8K Transfers and 13K New Registrations
It is expected that the General Elections will be held in the first week in November. In fact, the Prime Minister’s son, Shyne Barrow who is running in the Mesopotamia divisions claims it will be on Wednesday, November fourth. If so, this would mean that the last day to get on the voter’s list to participate in the elections would have been last week Friday. There are some who are expecting that Prime Minister Dean Barrow would officially announce the date on Wednesday when the House meets in Belmopan. As of Friday, the Elections and Boundaries Department received a little over eight thousand five hundred applications for transfers during the months of July and August. Thirteen thousand applications for new registrations were received. These applications will be vetted and investigated and once approved, the applicant will be on the voter’s list and eligible to vote in November.
