Chief Magistrate assaulted in court
41-year old Noel Mejia has had the book thrown at him…but only after he threw some blows at a magistrate. Police report that on Wednesday Mejia became agitated when his demands that a friend be released from custody was turned down by Chief Magistrate Herbert Lord. He then allegedly attacked Lord, but was soon subdued and taken into custody. Mejia has been charged with using threatening words against a judicial officer and aggravated assault.
