Kareem Musa and Team Youth Celebrate National Service Day

Saturday will be commemorated as National Service Day in memory of Right Honorable George Price. The day is set aside every year as part of September Celebrations to offer a day in service to the country. Today, Caribbean Shores Area Rep Kareem Musa was out near the Flag Monument in Belize City to rejuvenate the area. Musa says that it is not a political stunt but an event he has been doing for the past six years.

“We organized along with Team Youth, which has been in existence for over a year now, a group of young people who want to make a positive difference in Belize. We have come with the plan of painting and rejuvenating the roundabout. This is not just the entrance to Belize City. It is the entrance to our constituency of Caribbean Shores. We are going to be painting the fence today. During the course of today and tomorrow we will also be sanitizing and painting over the bus shed at the end of this fence. So we have a huge day in front of us. It is a huge task but certainly thirty hands are better than one hand or two. So I am grateful to all the youth who came out today to give back in honor of Mister Price.”

“You’ll have critics saying you just doing this because it is election season.”

“You can look back in your archives, Hipolito. We have been doing this since I was elected in 2015 and even before that in 2014. We have been giving back on every single National Service Day and other days as well. It is not just on Service Day.”
