Story Picture
Stemming from the growing concern about crimes against children, today the Association of Public Service Managers presented a cheque totaling one thousand dollars to the National Organisation For The Prevention Of Child Abuse, NOPCA. In accepting the donation, NOPCA’s Executive Director, Lorna McDougal says the gift was a total surprise, but is extremely appreciated.

“The money will be used to help us establish an office in Orange Walk. Right now, we are working on that to begin an outreach programme for the Orange Walk and Corozal District. So this kind contribution will help us significantly in realizing that effort. I was surprised when they called me to say that they have this donation to make to NOPCA. I was very pleased in that NOPCA was recognized as an agency or organisation that was trying to improve situation for Belizean families and children.”

The Association of Public Service Managers says they hope other organisations will join them in helping to protect the children of Belize.
