Stepfather charged with rape of 7-year old

In last night’s newscast we reported the alleged rape of a 7-year old student. Today police have arrested and charged the child’s stepfather, 35-year old Brian Charlesworth with rape and indecent assault. It is alleged that on Wednesday afternoon, Charlesworth had sex with the child before dropping her off at school. The school warden noticed that something was wrong with the girl and she was taken to the KHMH, where it was confirmed that she was sexually abused. Charlesworth appeared before a magistrate this morning and was not offered bail. Charlesworth is scheduled to appear in court on July 7th. The 7-year old girl is still receiving treatment at the KHMH.
