Is Ammunition Charge Simply a Holding Charge?

During the interview this afternoon, attorney Dickie Bradley alleged that the police department planted evidence against his client.  He contends that the ammunition offense is being used as a holding charge for Noel Codd. Here’s how he explains it.

“To charge Mister Codd with one round of ammunition for which—I ought to call his name, but yo know somebody says noh call his name—an officer put it on the ground and asks the scenes of crime technician to take a picture. That is a holding charge. It’s an old cowboy trick.”

“But sir this is a serious allegation that you are accusing the police of planting evidence. That would be a gross violation of all civil norms.”

“They plant it. I am not the planter. They are the ones that planted it. Listen if you find an ammunition on the man’s farm, why it take you two and a half days to charge him? You know that he has workers who live and work at the farm. You found them there; you had all of them at the station for two and a half days. You know that charge deh can’t stand up. That cannot stand up that other people are in my farm on my yard working. They have written statements that there were persons dressed in military camouflage with large guns who put all of them under manners and waited until something happened with the plane down the road. They were allowed to eat and drink and shut their mouth and don’t watch anything and those people had those type of weapons. So how can you charge Noel Codd for that? For people coming into his yard against his wishes? In any event it is a holding charge; dehn di chance Noel Codd. If you want to charge him that ih had something to do with the plane, charge him because they are coercing another person to say that Mister Codd said something, but noh do ahn that man.”
