Townhouse is latest offering from Housing Ministry

Today, another Belizean received the keys to a new house courtesy of the government of Belize. This home, however, is a little bit different than the typical bungalow as the Ministry of Housing looks to diversify the choices available to the public. Mehetibel Slusher is the proud owner of a townhouse on West Canal.
Mehetibel Slusher, New Homeowner
“I feel happy today because Dickie made me a promise and he has repaid his promise so he’s man to his word. So I feel very happy today to get this house.”
Dickie Bradley, Minister of Housing
“I think for a moment Mehetibel thought that cho!, she will never see her house. Figure you done give up on that right Mehetty. But like so many other people, in fact, the last time the Prime Minister gave a report to the nation, some 2,300 homes that have been underway as part of the commitment to see 10,000 homes built, both through the private sector and public sector.”
Slusher will be paying a little more than $200 a month for the next twenty years to pay for her new townhouse.
