Man Injured in Shooting in San Andres, Corozal
A fifty-year-old man, who recently relocated from the Cayo District to San Andres Village in Corozal, was the victim of a shooting in the early hours of today. As Juanito Quetzal waited for a taxi, a gunman emerged and opened fire at the unsuspecting man. He was struck multiple times, but survived the attack and is now in a stable condition at the Corozal Community Hospital. While police are following several leads, a motive behind the attempted murder is unknown at this time.

“Around 4:40 a.m., police responded to shots fired at San Andres Village, Corozal District. Upon arrival, they spoke to Juanito Quetzal who reported that he was on his veranda waiting for a taxi to take him to the bus terminal when he was approached by a male person who fired several shots at him. He received gunshot injuries to the shoulder and thigh. He is presently listed in a stable condition and investigators are following up on leads that we have at this time.”
