WIN-Belize holds open day
Today, Women’s Issues Network of Belize (WIN) held it’s first open day since moving into its new office on Mahogany Street. WIN-Belize was formed in 1993 to help women and their children achieve social and economic opportunities and focuses on areas such as employment and training. Today, the general public got an opportunity to find out more about the progress that has been made so far.
Mirlin Halliday, Head of Advocacy Campaign Committee
“One of our major achievements is that we have gotten a more centralized, more focused on women and the work that they do, we have also showcased that women can play a positive role in Belize’s growth towards anything that is positive.”
“We have pictures of things we have done like I said, over a period of time. We have displays of our AGM report, WIN’s newsletter, we have a leaflet on wages for everybody.”
Win-Belize receives support from the Gender Equity Fund of the Canadian International Development Agency and the Government of Belize. The organization also receives financial assistance through fundraising events and donations.
