B.P.P. Leader Ticked Off with Elections and Boundaries Department
According to Rogers, had they not written a strong letter to the Chief Elections Officer demanding the release of the updated voters list for Pickstock, they would still be in the dark regarding those names. The B.P.P. complains that when the Elections and Boundaries Department finally handed over the list, it is the list for August and not the most recent.
Patrick Rogers, Party Leader, B.P.P.
“The next thing is, there was a bunch of new registrations after transfers were done that would extend up to September eleventh that we don’t know who those people are. So all we got today after threatening the department to come to you all, the media, today, if by two o’clock if we did not receive at least an electronic copy. They are going to give to us an electronic copy that cuts off at August 2020. Now if that is not being punked, I don’t know what is. So the department is heavily politicized, it is working as though it is working for the U.D.P. or the P.U.D.P. system as we say, if P.U.P. has indeed received their printed copies and they don’t even have the decency to give the Belize Progressive Party an electronic copy so we could print our own darn list until they are done printing the list. So am I upset, yes I am upset. Will be making a bigger media hype and stink? Yes, as of tomorrow.”
