Robbers Target Corozal Store

An armed robbery occurred with the speed of lightening at a Corozal store on Monday night. Surveillance cameras were rolling as the armed men entered Gou Tai Store and proceed to jack the business owner who in fear hands over an undisclosed amount of cash. A customer, Mario Carillo, who arrived at the store was also robbed before the duo of robbers fled with the night’s loot. Here is Hipolito Novelo.

Everyone inside Gou Tai store on Seventh Avenue in Corozal Town was caught off guard when two robbers appeared at around seven o’clock on Monday night. The robbers concealed their faces and wore gloves. The first thief quickly walks to the counter while his partner in crime, armed, hurdles the customers where he can keep a close eye on them.  Meanwhile, business owner thirty-year old Hai Quing nervously and in fear for his life begins to hand over monies. The female stoops crouch down away from the thief’s aim.  The customers continue to control their fear as they witness an armed robbery. Another customer Mario Carillo walks in and he too is robbed of his wallet. The thieves put the cash in a plastic container and they scurry out the entrance of the store.
