Evan “Boo Boo” Thompson is Nominated for Port Loyola
Evan Thompson is officially on the list of candidates that the Belize Progressive Party is fielding in the November eleventh elections. The young politician wants to represent Port Loyola for the first time and this afternoon, in the company of family and friends, he made his way over to the Muslim Community School where he was nominated to run against Philip Willoughby and Gilroy Usher Senior in that constituency.

“It’s exciting, you know, and I am glad that I have my family’s support and it’s truly an amazing feeling, it’s really going to happen, you know. So I’m excited, I’m excited, excited, excited.”
Isani Cayetano
“You’re going up against two very well-heeled opponents coming from the mass parties, what’s going to happen between today, October twenty-first and November eleventh, insofar as your continued campaigning?”
Evan Thompson
“Well, my opponents I am not worried about them as much. They’re well-heeled in their own ways and they are foes that I understand already and they don’t understand me. So they don’t know the secrets that I have in place, you know and my strategies that I will bring out on election day. Basically we will continue the same thing, going out, meeting the people, greeting the people and, you know, just letting them know that the silent voice that they’ve been waiting on is finally here and it’s out and they can come out and support it, you know.”
Isani Cayetano
“What has been the vibe perhaps from the party leader going into today, in terms of building your morale, in terms of keeping you guys abreast of what’s happening in the various constituencies where you’re going to be representing?”
Evan Thompson
“He’s been doing an excellent job, you know, and even, you know, you have days when you’re down, he just boosts your confidence in a way that he makes you feel that you have talents that you don’t even remember you have.”
