Tony Herrera is Nominated for Corozal Southeast
U.D.P. Corozal Southeast candidate Antonio “Tony” Herrera was nominated today following uncertainty at the start of the week about his COVID status. On Saturday, Tony Herrera was swabbed and tested for COVID-19 after he initially tested positive for the disease on October fourth. In a press conference held by party leader Patrick Faber on Monday, he informed the media that a second test for Herrera was pending, the results of which would determine his ability to participate in the nomination day activities. This afternoon, Faber confirmed Herrera’s nomination.
Patrick Faber, Leader, United Democratic Party
“As far as I know, Tony was nominated. I have not heard, I, of course, have been in my constituency office seeing people this afternoon and then I came straight here, so I have not had a chance to see but I was told that Tony would have gone in at two o’clock and be nominated. So I suspect that that has happened.”

“Does he have a negative COVID test?”
Patrick Faber
“I am not aware that he does. I don’t know the status that he has.”

“Would you say that you don’t have the most optimal relationship with the candidate for Corozal Southeast because we know that he was an ardent John Saldivar supporter.”
Patrick Faber
“That’s not the case, come on. Stop making mischief where they need not any. Tony Herrera did not support me, you are correct, but even when he did not support me, Tony and I have maintained very strong friendship. In fact, even though he did not support me, I supported him out of funds from my leadership campaign for him to deal with situations including providing food pantries because I want him to win.”
