Suspected Drowning in Corozal

A Corozal man is suspected to have drowned after his body was found floating in the sea. On Sunday morning, Corozal police were called out to the seafront where they discovered Dudley Nugent’s body in the water. The suspicion is that Nugent may have drowned as no sign of violence was observed on his body. Here’s more from ACP Joseph Myvett.

“Yesterday morning, Corozal Police was called to the sea side where they observed the body of a male person floating. He was removed and no sign of violence was observed on the body and he was later identified as Dudley Nugent of a Corozal Town address. At this time, based on the fact that there were no injuries, officers are suspecting that it may have been a drowning.”

A post-mortem is scheduled to determine Nugent’s death.
