Man arrested for $20,000 robbery

Nearly three months after a daylight heist on North Front Street netted one thief $20,000, a Belize City man has been arrested and charged with the crime. This morning Jermaine Williams appeared in Magistrate’s Court to answer charges of robbery in connection with an incident that occurred in February of this year. According to police reports, on the morning of February 11th, Iman Ken, an employee of Northern Fisherman’s Cooperative, was getting out of his vehicle on North Front Street with the company payroll when a man with gun came up to him and demanded money. Ken handed over a bag containing approximately $20,000 and the thief ran away.
