Prison Hostage/Escape Remains Under Investigation

The prison hostage situation turned escape two weeks ago remains under investigation by the police department, despite an initial report suggesting that there was no collusion with prison officers.  With five of the twenty-eight escaped inmates still on the lam, Commissioner of Police Chester Williams says that those escapees need to be recaptured before the inquiry can be completed.

“In respect to the prison investigation, you would know that some prisoners are still on the run and so we would want to be able to capture all prisoners before we can arrive at a conclusive determination as it relates to what actually transpired within the prison prior to the escape of those prisoners.  So that is where we are with those investigations so far.”
