3 Councillors Contesting General Elections, Belize City Mayor Prepares Slate for Municipal Election

While we were with the mayor, News Five asked about three councillors, who have all thrown their hats in the race for a seat in central government. Allan Pollard is running in the Queen Square Division, Oscar Arnold in Collet and Doctor Candice Pitts in Mesopotamia. And with municipal elections to be held five months later, in March 2021, Mayor Bernard Wagner says that they are rebuilding.

“The work continues. When you have talent on a team, people grab talent and these people talented.  I can’t hold them back. The talent is there; there is a greater need for them. We rebuild. That is what I have been doing all my life. Rebuild, rebuild, rebuild, rebuild team; build young people, bring young people in. We can’t just stick and recycle the same old people over and over. That is what the other side has been doing for some time and dah same set weh lose ina 2018 want come back again. We have young people weh we want push and that is where we want to go.”
