Appeal denied, McKenzie and Neal to Hattieville
It’s a case where for once, the sentence stuck. George “Junie Balls” McKenzie and Eugene Neal are enjoying the accommodations at the Hattieville Correctional Facility tonight after their appeal was dismissed in the Supreme Court. Puisne Judge George Meerabux ruled that the sentence of 4 years for possession of a prohibited firearm and 6 months for unlicensed ammunition will stand. Attorney for the defendants Lutchman Sooknandan had appealed their sentence on four grounds, none of which found favor with the court. Neal and McKenzie had been arrested when a sub machine gun and ammunition were found in the taxi they were riding in. The case was prosecuted by Sharon Frazier.
