Dead Man Found in Trio Village is Rigoberto Albarenga of San Roman, Corozal

Police have identified the man who was found dead on the outskirts of Trio Village on Sunday. He has been identified as Rigoberto Albarenga of San Roman Village in Corozal.  On Monday, police didn’t label the incident as a murder, but by Wednesday, Commissioner of Police said that it was being investigated as a murder.  As we reported, the man was found with an injury to the back of the head and a woman was also found unconscious on the same road.   She had reported to police that she was attacked by two robbers.  It remains unclear if the two incidents are related.  Investigators have not yet disclosed the cause of death of Albarenga.
