More Contract Officers Being Hired During COVID-19 Pandemic

According to Henry, additional contract officers are currently being added to the wage bill.  He says that the government is being insensitive to the sacrifices that public officers are making and calls on the Financial Secretary to remember his directive to the ministries with regards to cost saving measures.

“The FinSec of the Ministry of Finance now ballooning the wage bill more and with contract officers of all things. It is a clear case of just lip service coming from the Ministry of Finance, that they are interested in cost saving measures. So all the more we want public officers to realize that we are the ones that they are sacrificing because they keep giving contracts to these people but they are looking at sending us home which makes no sense. It is contradictory. So it is clear again that the public officers who are the ones being sacrificed to benefit these individuals who are closer to these politicians and it is a time for public officers to what we call wake up the sleeping giant. P.S.U. has been the sleeping giant. It is time to wake it up. It is time to wake up the sleeping giant, join the P.S.U. and fight for what it good very well be your job.”
