Village man gets 18 years for incest

It is said to be more common than many of us care to admit, but the particular form of child abuse known as incest remains a strong societal taboo. Incest is also against the law…and today one man found out that such violations carry a heavy penalty. 35-year old Raymond Allen of Santana Village was today sentenced to 18 years in prison for having an incestuous relationship with his daughter. The incidents took place between 1996 and 1999 and were brought to the attention of the police by the young woman last march. Allen pleaded guilty and Supreme Court Justice Troadio Gonzales sentenced him to 6 years on each of three counts, the sentences to run consecutively.
