Opposition Leader Expecting High Voter Turnout for P.U.P.

There are a little over one hundred and eighty two registered voters across all thirty-one constituencies. Not everyone will come out and vote and Briceño was anticipating that there would be an eighty percent voter turnout. That was before the floods in the west and Belize River Valley. The P.U.P. leader believes that the percentage could also dip because disenchanted U.D.P. supporters will simply not head to the polls to support Patrick Faber and his candidates.

“You are missing an important part of that formula, the division in the UDP the many UDPs not having no kind of insert to go and vote for their party because of them believe that they have been betrayed. So that in itself is going to have a impact on the amount of people that are going to vote. We are not going to vote on who is it that is going to go for the UDP. We are concern about the people that are going to vote for us, that are going to vote blue. There we have high energy. We have high interests. I believe that we are going to take out a lot of people that are going to go and vote for us. Now for those who do not go it could be COVID, it could be flood, it could be simply that they disgusted and do not want to go and show support.”

“Actually, I was thinking more, before the flood, I was thinking closer to eighty percent that would come out and vote because when we talked to people and explained to them what are the steps that we are going to be able to protect them then they will say that they will be able to come out but with the flood and everything, anywhere sixty-seventy percent. But what is important that our people, the people who are going to support BLU, that are going to vote blue are excited and energize and ready to come out and vote tomorrow.”
