Property Owner Comes Forward in Case Against Tablada

Late this evening, the owner of the property which Tablada had been occupying and had been ordered to vacate on Tuesday, visited our office to set the record straight that his demise was not the result of a land dispute with her.  In speaking with News Five off-camera, the property owner said that Tablada reportedly purchased her home from someone else without her knowledge and began occupying the wooden home unbeknownst to her.  When she learned about the situation, the matter was taken to court and the magistrate requested that both parties resolve the matter through the police department.  According to the woman, the issue had been resolved just prior to the deadly shooting.

Voice of: Property Owner

“The situation was that Mr. Tablada was occupying my house due to the fact that he claimed that he had purchased my house from someone.  When I found that out I proceeded to the police station and the police instructed me to take out a summons on Mr. Tablada to evict him from out of the house.  We ended going to court on October eighteenth and the judge told me that he was not going to throw out the case because Mr. Tablada had claimed that he had never paid me rent.  So the judge instructed me to go to my lawyer and he told Mr. Tablada to go to his lawyer.  He also said in that same breath that Mr. Tablada was in trouble along with the person that sold my house.  I consulted with my lawyer and my lawyer told me to go back to the police station because it was either theft or trespass.  I went to the police station and WPC Humes and WPC Young assisted me with my case.  We went to Mr. Tablada’s house, our house, the house that Mr. Tablada occupied and they instructed him to leave in two days time.  He had asked for three more weeks because he needed time to move.  I told them that I had no problem with that.  We had come to an agreement the same night that he was murdered that the next day he was supposed to move.  We had already solved the problem so we didn’t have any more issue or we didn’t have anything.  So I had no reason and I will say this, I have no reason to harm Mr. Tablada because whatever issue we had was already solved.”
