The Guerrero Family Needs Help Locating Their Missing Father

Egner Guerrero

Fifty-four-year-old Egner Guerrero, a resident of George Street here in Belize City, has been missing since Friday and his family is worried that he may be in danger because of his medical condition.  According to his daughter, Guerrero was last seen walking along the George Price Highway in the direction of Hattieville and, despite all efforts to locate him, have been unsuccessful.  Today, the family dropped by our office to ask the public for assistance in finding their father.

“My dad disappeared on Friday around 8:30 in the morning.  We thought that he just went to the family house at the corners of Dolphin and Gibnut Street and we checked around midday to see why he hadn‘t returned home.  When we called, they said that he had never arrived, therefore we went about checking in the neighborhood to see if anyone had seen him.  My dad suffers from epilepsy and dementia, when he catches his seizures he loses consciousness of what he‘s doing but he has never left the house.  So I find it startling that he just left the house randomly and didn‘t come back or say anything.”

“Now you guys have attempted since Friday to locate him, what has your efforts been like and what are the challenges that you are facing?”

Jamillah Guerrero

“Well from Friday we went in the afternoon, as soon as we went about checking and we had no results, we went directly to the police station where we informed the officers, gave his name, gave my ID, gave his ID and asked them if they can kindly aid us in searching for him and they said that the procedure is forty-eight hours to search for someone that is missing.”

“Is there an appeal that you would now want to make to the wider public should they come across your dad at any point in time?”

Jamillah Guerrero

“Yes, that if anyone sees him to please contact the [family].  Our phone numbers are on Facebook.  They are on Channel Seven, they are now on Channel Five, to please contact us immediately if they‘ve seen him.  He is sick.  He has on a dark green tee shirt with Coca-Cola written on it in white font and he has on a grey cargo pants and black slippers.  He doesn‘t have on a mask.  His hair is grey, it‘s like black and grey.  He has a long beard and he is a tall Hispanic man.  He is around six feet three inches in height but he is not right in his mind.  He goes by the nickname Sheriff or Papi.  His name is Egner Guerrero, please if anyone sees him, please contact us immediately and we will try to see to get to him.”
