Charles Young Escaped Hail of Bullets with Just a Graze!

A Belize City man was lucky to escape a barrage of bullets on Monday afternoon when someone tried to kill him. Charles Young Junior was at the intersection of Western Avenue and Ordonez Street in Belize City when a man fired several shots at him. Those bullets grazed Young in his back and arm.  Today, we asked police about this shooting and if it has any connections to the spate of gun violence in the city. Commissioner Chester Williams says that while it’s believed to be gang related, it is not connected to any of the other incidents.  Williams says one person is being sought.

“Mr. Young had gone to his girlfriend’s home and while he was there helping her take out groceries from the vehicle, a lone gunman came and fired shots at him. He managed to escape with only grazed to the back and he was taken to the K.H.M.H., treated and released. We have the name of one suspect in that matter and we are currently seeking that individual.”
