“No Lotion and Powder fi Bad Man” – Chester Williams
The flare up of tensions between feuding gangs in Lake Independence has forced the police department to re-strategize its approach to crime fighting where gangs are concerned. While specific instructions have been given to gather intelligence on persons believed to be actively involved in the spate of shootings, ComPol Williams says that they will not be operating indiscriminately in carrying out their duties.
Chester Williams, Commissioner of Police
“The police have been told to go out and do your job. Now we don’t want to go out and paint everybody with the same brush, so what we’ll be doing is that the intelligence people have been tasked to ensure that they gather intelligence on those persons who are actually involved in the recent spike so that we can go after those persons. Because the truth be told, there are still a few of those gang members who, for the most part, are holding true to their words, they are holding the peace. We don’t want to bring them into the fray so we just want to ensure that we go after those who are actively involved in this recent spike and let them get the message that they either behave themselves, if not then they’re going to feel the wrath of the police and you cannot be out there killing people, instilling fear in people and expect that the police will come with powder and lotion and powder and lotion you. That is not going to work.”
