Belizean dies in accident in Campeche, Mexico

The body of a young girl was found today in Cotton Tree Village last night and a police officer has been questioned and released. But first we report that further away, a Belize City man perished in a traffic accident as he headed back to Belize through Mexico. The details are sketchy, but it is known that Rhett Reyes was driving back in a pack of Belizeans who were returning to the jewel from the United States. The incident occurred last night while the group was travelling through Candelaria, a municipality in the Mexican state of Campeche. The vehicle, being driven by Reyes, a car dealer, reportedly ran off the road and it is believed that Reyes died on impact. Family members say that arrangements are being made to bring back the body to Belize.
