Villager dead in hit and run

While stolen cars may dominate the headlines it is the misuse of motor vehicles that continue to fill the nation’s cemeteries. On Saturday night the road claimed another victim, this time a 34-year-old labourer of Louisville Village in Corozal. The body of Michael Cobb was found around 8:30 lying face down on the road which leads from the Northern Highway to San Narcisso. He had numerous injuries to his head and body, the apparent victim of a hit and run. Neither the vehicle nor driver have been identified, but reports indicate that a cane truck may have been involved. Police are asking that anyone who can assist them in this case please call the Corozal Police Station.
