40 Pounds of Weed Eena Fuel Tank
Police made a forty-pound weed bust on Sunday afternoon. Cops in the north were called to an area in Chan Chen Village in Corozal that’s known for illicit activities. Polices say one taxi operator and another man have been arrested and charged for the eighteen parcels. They are now trying to determine who the other players are. ACP Joseph Myvett of the National Crimes Investigation Branch tells us more.
ACP Joseph Myvett, Head, National Crimes Investigation Branch
“Police were responding to an information on the outskirts of Chan Chen Village where upon their arrival they met Rene Campos who was beside a taxi. In conducting further searches in the area, they came across thirty-eight-year-old Kidd Campos and at the time he had in his possession a vehicle fuel tank. When police inspected the tank it had eighteen parcels of suspected cannabis and when it weighed amounted to forty point two pounds. As a result, police have arrested and charged both persons for possession of a controlled drug with the intent to supply to another.”

“Is this someone that the police had been looking at as a trafficker?”
ACP Joseph Myvett
“Yes. Yes he has been looked at and was being studied by police officers and that is a known area for illegal activities where he was found.”

“Is this marijuana brought over from Mexico?”
ACP Joseph Myvett
“That is our belief yes. And that may have been just his stash area or he would have transported the entire fuel tank to where he would have done further distribution.”
