Do Not Share the Video!
Unfortunately, the video of the boy confessing to being a victim of a sexual attack made its way on social media. Williams today sent out a stern warning to those who are sharing the video as they too can also be charged under the new cyber crime laws.
Chester Williams, Commissioner of Police
“May I also say to those persons who posted or shared the video on social that too is an offence. That is tantamount to cyber bullying. So even though I know for the most part, people are posting it to bring awareness and not per say to humiliate the child. We have to be sensitive with what they post especially when it has to do with children. As a society we have an obligation to protect our children. They are our future. And if it is as adults we look at our children and treat our children in such a way then what do we expect them to be when they grow up. So it is something that we really and truly need to do better as a society.”
