Persons Who Videoed the Boy May Be Criminally Charged

Chester Williams

While the accused perverts are in police custody, Commissioner of Police Chester Williams says that investigators are also looking at those who recorded the boy confessing to the sexual abuse made against him. The video victimizes the boy once again on a psychological and emotional level. The fact that he recounts the attack in a joking manner brings up the question whether boys like him around the country are being properly educated about sexual abuse and attack.  Williams says that the law is being revised to see if those who produced the video can be criminally charged.

“We are also looking at the cyber crime legislation to see what if any offence was committed and we are also looking at those persons who did the videoing to see what level of culpability they  have because obviously it would appear as if the video was produce with a way to humiliate the child. If it is that is the case and if you listen to the line of questioning that the child was being asked as a matter of fact the child suspected that he was being videoed and they told him no, that he was not being videoed when in fact they were videoing him and in that entire process they were asking him questions, making fun of him. That is tantamount to cyber bullying as well. The persons who partook in the recording o the video may also be liable and we are looking to see how we can make that link. The sad part of that entire ordeal is almost all of the persons involved are minors. The oldest one being sixteen. There is one adult involved who we are looking at, at this time. To see the things they put this child through is really and truly outrageous and as a society we must condemn it.”
