A House Fire in Orange Walk – was it Arson?
There was a fire on Stadium Street in Orange Walk on Friday. Police say that a resident reported that he was away from his property when he was informed that one of the unoccupied houses in his yard was on fire. ACP Joseph Myvett say that an investigation is ongoing as the owner believes his property was intentionally torched.
ACP Joseph Myvett, Head, National Crimes Investigation Branch
“Julio Valerio reported to police that he had left his home shortly before that time to attend to some business at the Orange Walk Police Station when he received a call that one of his houses in his yard, which is a wooden house, was on fire. The police did visit the area along with the fire department; however, that building was completely destroyed by fire. Mr. Valerio is of the opinion that his building was set on fire. It is a matter under investigation by police at this time but we don’t have any suspects at this time.”
