Women’s caucus holds convention

The Belize Women’s Political Caucus (BWPC) will be holding its annual convention on Saturday. The convention begins at 1:00pm at the Belize-Mexico Institute of Co-operation and Culture in Belize City. Guest speakers include Professor Judith Aguilar, President of the Women’s Movement, State of Quintana, Roo, Senator Audrey Matura and Chairperson of the Belize Tourism Board Therese Rath. A delegation of women from Mexico will also participate in the convention. The BWPC is also launching it’s 2nd national Madam Liz Award, which is presented to a Belizean woman, who in the spirit of Madam Liz, has consistently done outstanding work to improve the situation of Belizean women and girls. The Women’s Political Caucus is a voluntary, non-profit, non-governmental organization, committed to ensuring all women full and equal participation in the political process. The organization is made up of women representing diverse backgrounds, regardless of political affiliation, cultural identity or economic status.
