German Embassy rep. reviews projects

The Deputy Head of the German Embassy in Jamaica met with Ministry of Housing personnel this week, to discuss plans for the satellite city at mile 31 on the Western Highway and other projects in Belize. Dr. Bernard von Muenchow-Pohl met with project coordinator Carolyn Trench Sandiford and representatives of Adolp Lupp, a German company which has been contracted by the Belize Government, to develop the plans for the infrastructure for the new town. Dr. Muenchow-Pohl is also reviewing projects the German Embassy has funded under its small scale project scheme, these include the Cayo Center for Employment, the construction of an office at St. Hilda’s Anglican School in Georgeville and equipment donations to the Youth Enhancement Services in Belize City. The Janus foundation will help to identify future projects, which can apply for funding.
