BTB celebrates Tourism Awareness Week

This week is being celebrated as Tourism Awareness Week. Opening remarks were given by Minister of Tourism Mark Espat on Sunday. On Monday members of the BTB were featured on Love FM‘s Morning Show and held a Tourism Appreciation Day at various venues including the International Airport. Today, they were on Krem‘s Morning Show and held tourism presentations at primary schools in the districts. Tonight, the Belize Technical College and St. John’s College Sixth Form will hold a debate on the cost versus the benefits of tourism. That takes place at the Holy Redeemer Parish Hall at 7:00. More activities will be held throughout the week, including an appreciation day in Punta Gorda on Wednesday, an open day at the House of Culture on Thursday, a National Tourism Awards Night on Saturday and an eco-triathlon in Cayo on Sunday.
