Ministry of Foreign Affairs Receives Cheque from the Embassy of Mexico for Humanitarian Assistance

On behalf of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Chief Executive Officer Amalia Mai received a cheque of fifty-nine thousand, five hundred and eighty-four dollars and thirty-nine cents from Mexico’s Ambassador to Belize Martha Ofelia Zamarripa Rivas.  A release from the Government Press Office says that the funds will be used to provide humanitarian assistance, specifically food and sanitizing items, to Belizeans affected by Eta and Iota. C.E.O. Mai expressed appreciation, especially in light of the difficult economic situation worldwide as a consequence of the global pandemic. Of note is that Belize and Mexico have enjoyed bilateral and political relations since the establishment of diplomatic relations in 1981.
