A Sizeable Marijuana Bust in the North is Reported

There are reports reaching our news desk this evening of a major marijuana haul in the north where a significant drug bust was made by the Mobile Interdiction Team.  Likewise, the seizure of a large quantity of contraband items, including liquor, has also been made as police continue to ramp up their operations in the Orange Walk and Corozal districts.  While the confiscated marijuana is yet to be weighed, it is believed that the quantity comes up to roughly two hundred pounds.  Of note is that sizeable shipments of Mexican weed continue to be smuggled into Belize from the north, while uncustommed or contraband beer, cigarettes and groceries are illegally trafficked through border communities in Orange Walk District.
