Convicted murderer escapes from police
A man police describe as armed and dangerous escaped from their custody earlier today. 19 year old Phillip Jones Tillett, convicted of the murder of Wei Tao Jhiang a businessman in November of 1997, was being escorted to the bathroom at the Queen Street Police Station today when he managed to run away. Tillett is 5 feet 9 inches tall, weighs approximately 145 pounds and has dark hair and brown eyes. Phillip Tillett was at the Queen Street Police Station today because he was being charged with burglaries he committed prior to his murder conviction. Tillett had been serving a 20-year sentence. His last known addresses were #3 North Creek Road and #23 “T” Street.
