Youth for the Future employee gets 6 months for Theft
And in the lower court, a Belize City man has been sentenced to six months in prison for theft. When he appeared in court today, forty-four year old Louis Romero changed his plea from not guilty to guilty. Romero, an employee of Youth for the Future is accused to stealing a cell phone from Karina Adderley, a secretary for the CYDP on December fourth, 2008. Adderley reported to police that Romero came to her workplace and asked to see Superintendent Edward Broaster or Kevin Cadle. She went looking for both and when she returned, she noticed that her phone was missing. Police investigations led them to Stanley Chaplin, who said he bought the phone from Romero for twenty-five dollars. Romero was also charged with Handling Stolen Goods, but that charge was dismissed.
