Barrow says budget needs details
The Leader of the Opposition says there is no good news in the budget for Belizeans and that the Prime Minister spoke about improving areas such as education and eliminating poverty, but did not say specifically how these things will be accomplished or how they will be paid for.
Dean Barrow, Leader of the Opposition
“So I think in term of the meat and potatoes aspect of the budget, it’s not clear. I certainly feel that people will experience a sense of disappointment. In terms of the capital budget, clearly there was better than forecast capital revenue because of the sale of the shares in BEL. Again one has to wonder how long can that sort of thing can continue.”
Barrow will have his chance to comment on what he views as the other shortcomings of the budget during the debate on March 17th.”
