P.M. satisfied with outcome in Guatemala

In his first official comment on the return of the Belizean officers, at today’s House meeting, Prime Minister Said Musa says he is happy to have the men home and hopes Belize Guatemala relations can get back on track.

“It was a combination of utilizing to the fullest, the legal expertise available to us as well as diplomatic negotiations behind the scenes. I wouldn’t want to go into details except to say that we were able to secure their release, on the bail of the Ambassador now accredited to Guatemala, Salvador Figueroa and we’re hoping that, that will put that particular issue behind us now.”
