Belmopan Cop is Busted with Thirteen Kilos of Weed in O.W.
Police Officer Rosendo Joel Cantun was busted with thirteen kilos of weed last Thursday. Police say that cops were conducting vehicle checks at the Tower Hill Bridge in Orange Walk just before midday when they stopped Cantun. The officers searched his vehicle and that is when they found a black plastic bag with twenty-four parcels of weed wrapped in Saran Wrap. It weighed just below thirty pounds. Cantun was arrested and charged for the offense of Possession of a Controlled Drug with Intent to Supply to Another. Viewers may recall that another cop, Dion Bellini, was arrested on drug charges at the end of December when he was busted with forty pounds of weed on the outskirts of Orange Walk. Today, ACP Joseph Myvett dismissed the idea that some cops may have organized themselves into drug operatives.

“I do not believe that there is a ring however you had posed some questions from a few weeks back and as I said it continues to be an ongoing investigation and it so happens that they are caught up in the investigation and the full extent of the law will be exercised on them.”
