Nineteen-Year-Old Fatally Stabbed by his Stepfather
A family dispute ended with fatal consequences for a family in San Martin Belmopan on Sunday. Walter Axcel Gonzalez was at home when his step-father arrived and got into an argument with his mother. Gonzalez intervened, and the two men, who were reportedly under the influence, got into a physical fight. The family says the dispute started just before eight o’clock in the family home yard, and Choc reportedly stabbed Gonzalez swiftly by the time they realized what had happened. Choc was rushed to the Western Regional Hospital last night and was later transferred to K.H.M.H., where he was in a coma until he died later this afternoon. Today, the deceased’s aunt and cousin recount the stormy relationship between Gonzalez and Choc.
Vanessa Gonzalez, Aunt of the Deceased
“Axcel and his step-father didn’t get along. Every time they would drink they would fight. It isn’t the first time. He would always cuss up the young boy and then come and cuss my sister. So, Axcel didn’t like that they would come and cuss his mom and so he would always take part for his mom. The man came to my sister and they were arguing – I don’t know what they were arguing and he came to see what’s happening with his mom and so the old man came and cuss up Axcel”
Isandro Calderon, Cousin of the Deceased
“It triggered my cousin and so it angered my cousin and went to try to hit Javier and then Javier grabbed him and slammed him into the car too and right there Axcel went running to grab Javier’s bike to dash it on top of him and right there Javier come and shove him over there and right there the knife come out and he took the knife and stabbed and the blade come out clean without a drip of blood.”

“What size was that blade?”
Isandro Calderon
“Six inches – dah wah six inch knife. It came in and came out quickly but my cousin run exact in time because Javier mi want stab again but he went to call for help at his friend house and when he came in we notice the bleeding he had.”
The family says that they have had to call the cops many times to intervene because the disputes would get physical between the step-father and step-son.
