Arrests made in Orange Walk rapes
Police have charged a laborer from San Pedro, Ambergris Caye, Joseph Budna, with an unnatural crime and aggravated assault following reports a 14 year old boy that he was raped. The teen told police he was walking with some friends near Louisiana Field, Orange Walk on Saturday evening when a Creole man stopped and asked if one of them would translate for him. The youth agreed to do the favor, got in the car and they drove towards Perville. However, he says the man stopped the car, beat and then raped him. Police have also made two arrests and are looking for a third man in connection with the rape of a girl that same day also in the Orange Walk district. Ernesto Carillo of San Pablo was charged with rape and a teacher from San Estevan, Pedro Sanchez, was charged with abduction. A thirteen-year-old girl told police she was home alone in San Jose Village when three men came to the door. The teenager said she recognized the teacher and so allowed them in, but they tied her up, put her in a gray pick up and drove to the San Jose school compound where one of the men raped her. The girl said she was then dropped off a short distance from home.
