Inmate injured in kitchen fight
On Sunday an inmate received minor surgery after he was chopped at Hattieville prison. According to the Department of Corrections, the incident happened shortly after nine Sunday morning. Reports are that Paul Ysaguirre went to the institution’s kitchen, but after entering the building he was confronted by fellow inmate, Bert Elijio. The inmates are alleged to have gotten in an argument, which resulted in Ysaguirre being chopped in his hand. Prison authorities say their investigation so far indicates the fight was about a woman. Elijio was immediately transferred to Maximum Security and will be charged. Ysaguirre has undergone an operation to repair an injured tendon.
