Baby dies, brother says she fell
A two-year-old girl is dead after reportedly falling down a flight of stairs. The tragic accident took place around one Saturday afternoon on West Street in Belize City. According to police, the toddler and a five-month-old baby were left in the care of their twelve-year-old brother while the mother went to work. The older boy told police that his sister Ashley Alvarado fell down fifteen cement stairs, he tried to help and took Ashley to the bed but shortly after she started gasping for breath and died. Police continue to investigate since a postmortem today has indicated the baby died of suffocation.
