No Charges Against Former Lands Commissioner, Yet
Commissioner of Police Chester Williams also spoke of the ongoing investigation concerning Wilbert Vallejos, the former Lands Commissioner. Viewers will recall that Vallejos residence in Patchakan Village was raided, and police found were over sixty thousand dollars in various currencies and denominations. Officers called in the Financial Intelligence Unit, which is now leading the investigation. But as of tonight, no charges have been laid against Vallejos.
Chester Williams, Commissioner of Police
“That matter is still with the F.I.U. They are the ones who have control of that investigation. Yes the police are a part of it and we are awaiting the guidance from them in terms of what has been done. We know that certain applications were to be made to the court or through the Director of F.I.U. for us to be able to have access to bank accounts and other financial information so I believe that there is where the investigation currently is.”
Hipolito Novelo
“However, no charges against anyone as yet?”
Chester Williams
“At this time, no.”
