Woman says she was drugged and raped

Police in Cayo are investigating a claim by a young woman that she was drugged and raped in the early hours of February 19th. The 24 year old says she was at the “Legend 2000” nightclub in Santa Elena Town, when a male acquaintance bought her a drink and insisted she drink. She says she only had a few sips and the next thing she remembers is waking up to find the man raping her. She says she tried to fight him off but her body was numb and heavy. She says her rapist slapped her several times and hit her head against something cement. She woke up later in a pick up truck which was parked in a pasture. The man told her to put her clothes on and he took her home. Police have detained one person for questioning.
