No arrest made in Lacey Rosales murder

Story PictureThe recent murder of twenty-seven Lacey Rosales remains a mystery. Belize City police have still not made any arrests in connection with last Tuesday morning’s stabbing murder on Pen Road. Rosales died after receiving numerous stab wounds to her chest and throat. The woman was surprised around five that morning as she exited her home and made her way to her parked car. Rosales was heading to pick up her mother to take her for medical treatment in Dangriga when her life was cut short. Police told News Five this evening that they were still trying to establish a motive for the killing and are following several leads. Police also have not recovered the murder weapon.

Meanwhile, the search continues for the other suspects in the murder of thirty-eight year old Chinese worker, Hui Lin Chen in Orange Walk Town. Chen was killed by a man who accosted him on the second floor of the Mai’s warehouse at the corner of Lover’s Lane and Park Avenue around nine-thirty on the night of March fourteenth.

Late last week police charged ex-police constable, Kevin “Cowboy” Alvarez as the prime suspect in the murder and slapped additional charges on him for the shooting of three police officers in the same incident. From the onset police had claimed that there was a second suspect acting along with Alvarez but they have not come forward to say just what role that second suspect played in the series of incidents.
