Meet Sugar City’s U.D.P. 7
Earlier today, the United Democratic Party introduced its candidates running in the upcoming municipal elections for the Orange Walk Town Council. Led by mayoral candidate Orlando Castillo, the U.D.P. Seven slate was presented at the party’s headquarters here in Belize City during a live event. The Castillo ticket is made up of new faces representing the party, going up against a P.U.P. slate comprised of sitting town councilors. Here are the candidates:
Melvin Adolphus, U.D.P. Councilor Candidate, Orange Walk
“Hello everyone, my name is Melvin Adolphus and I thank you for this great opportunity to be here and represent Orange Walk Town. I have lived most of my life in Orange Walk Town, like most of these guys. I’m a tour guide, but apart from that I have been in many organizations, for example, I am part of the Northern Tour Guides Association and also I am part of a rescue team.”
Shamika Bull, U.D.P. Councilor Candidate, Orange Walk
“Good afternoon everyone, my name is Shamika Bull. I have lived in Orange Walk my entire life and I decided to become a part of this dynamic team because I want to see a change in my home town and especially I want to be the voice for the youths in my town and I am determined, I am energetic and we are ready to get on with the work in Orange Walk Town so I ask the people of Orange Walk to support us and let us get ahead with the work that needs to be done.”

“My name is Henry Gomez and I am twenty-nine years old. I decided to be part of this group of town council because I have seen the struggle that is happening in Orange Walk since the COVID-19.”
